What does my employee need to know before arriving at a HASC campus?

TRAINING ARRIVAL TIMES
We understand extreme circumstances may occur, and we recommend trainees scheduled for instructor-led classes arrive 30 to 45 minutes prior to the start time. Late entry is not allowed as classes begin promptly at the start time, and the trainee will be directed to take the next available class.

TRAINING CHECK-IN POLICY
HASC™ requires that every trainee show an unexpired (or expired no longer than 60 days with renewal receipt) government-issued photo ID to be eligible for training. Identification documents must be the original documents. Copies or facsimiles are not acceptable.

The following are acceptable forms of identification:

  1. Valid state-issued driver license
  2. Valid state-issued identification card
  3. Valid United States federal identification card (i.e. Military or Department of Corrections ID, which includes county or municipality)
  4. Valid international passport
  5. Valid immigration ID (i.e. Resident Alien Card)
  6. Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

A HASC™ badge is not considered a government-issued photo ID.

For non-U.S. trainees who do not have a valid U.S. state or government form of identification, the first six digits of the non-U.S. passport numbers preceded by zeros will be entered into the database.

NOTE: Trainees who do not have a valid U.S. state or government form of identification will not be issued a reciprocal code on the badge upon successful completion of ARSC courses. Please contact your contract administrator for acceptable entry requirements.

REGISTERED TRAINING COURSES
HASC® is not authorized to alter the courses for which a trainee has been registered. Any alterations to registered courses, including updating to an enhancer course, must be made by the registering company via LINK™.

Other Important Information

REPLACEMENT BADGES
You can register your trainee for 19REPLAC to pick up a replacement badge. The cost of a replacement badge is $5.00 when registered by your company.
Trainees may also walk in and pay for their own replacement badge for $5.00.
In both instances, the trainee must present proper ID for verification purposes prior to receiving the badge.
If your customized company-specific or site-specific course is offered at your location, you can register your trainee for 19REPLAC to pick up their training badge if needed.

SOCIAL SECURITY VERIFICATION (SSVs)
Depending on the facility, an SSV may be required prior to entry. If your trainee is scheduled for an SSV and it is rejected, we will need to see the actual social security card for verification purposes. If we are still unable to verify the social security number, we will release the trainee’s badge, but we cannot guarantee your trainee will be allowed admittance into the facility.

Reciprocity and the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils, Inc. (ARSC)

ARSC member councils are councils whose training meets the standards set for certain non-site-specific courses such as Basic Orientation Plus. These courses are transferable from one member council to another. Your employee does not have to retake a transferable course if he or she has passed the course within the year at an ARSC member council. For more information on ARSC and a list of member councils and transferable courses, visit their website.

Do you have any study material we can use to prepare our employees for your safety tests?

There is a study guide available for the ARSC Basic Orientation Plus course required by most sites. We do not furnish any material to prep your employees for testing here. There are several places that have excellent training material you can purchase for use in your safety training. Try your local U.S. government bookstore or OSHA office.
