  • HASC is offering a Silica Competent Person training course developed by a CIH/CSP team with over 25-years of experience in industry. The course offers practical experience in the assessment of crystalline silica during blasting, refractory, insulating, grouting, mixing, and cutting concrete for maintenance, projects, demolition, and new construction activities associated with industrial manufacturing. The training will encompass the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s recommended training guidelines for developing a capable competent person with a solid skill set. Trainees will have the ability to:

    • Identify potential risks,
    • Assist with the development of an exposure control plan,
    • Assure the adherence to the plan,
    • Identify needed improvements to the plan,
    • Understand controls, and
    • Understand exposure grouping strategies.

    Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a certificate acknowledging you have met or exceeded OSHA's requirements as a Competent Person and Competent Inspector.
