This course describes the prerequisites and knowledge required for a control center operator to successfully and safely shut down a gas pipeline. It addresses the key concepts of compressors, monitoring and control systems, slug control, conditions and safety concerns of ceasing gas flow through a pipeline, and the abnormal operating conditions (AOCs) that may occur when performing this task.
